I started Ph.D in Forest Resources in January 2009 at the School of Forest Resources, University of Maine. My current research focuses on designing a methodology for sustainability assessment of bio-fuels industry. Bio-fuels industry is a complex system with wide ranges of impacts distributed in different spatial and temporal scales. In order to capture the life cycle impacts of bio-fuels I am using tools like System Dynamics, Complex Adaptive Systems, Life Cycle Assessment and Input/Output analysis.

I received my Master of Science in Forestry from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2008 with focus on Human Dimension of Natural Resource Management. I was trained as civil engineer and I received my bachelor degree from Tribhuwan University in Nepal.

Prior to joining UMaine I was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Department of Forestry, Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I also worked as a journalist for The Himalayan Times from 2003 to 2006. During the same time I was also employed as Environmental Officer for a construction company in Nepal.
